Part of the proceeds from the recently concluded Gen MK 52nd Birthday Run has been allocated to support the Uganda Child Cancer Foundation (UCCF), one of the beneficiaries selected from the charity initiative held last month.
The 10-kilometre marathon, organised under the theme “Run for Charity, Run for Hope,” took place on April 26, 2026, at Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala. The event attracted thousands of participants from across the country and aimed at raising funds to support vulnerable communities, including orphans and children’s homes.
The Uganda Child Cancer Foundation, an organisation that supports children battling cancer and their families, was among the institutions chosen to benefit from the fundraising campaign. The foundation plays a critical role in covering essential expenses such as transport, accommodation, and feeding for young patients undergoing treatment. Its activities are largely sustained through donations from well-wishers and partners.

On Friday, the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, accompanied by his wife Charlotte, officially handed over a dummy cheque worth UGX 100 million to the Uganda Child Cancer Foundation at the Special Forces Command headquarters.
The donation is expected to strengthen the foundation’s efforts in supporting children undergoing cancer treatment and easing the burden on affected families across Uganda.
